Life: An analogy to optical communication
Optical communication is the mode of communication whose roots go back to 19th century. Being a researcher in Optical & Photonics field, I can correlate the optical communication with our life very well. In this post, the human life is compared to the way optical communication works. In sort if I say, "Life is an analogy to optical communication". Fiber optics is the important component of optical communication. Optical fibers are used now a days as the fastest mode of wired communication. The signal is transmitted in the form of light from transmitter to receiver via optical fiber. In this mode of communication, the losses are less as compared to the one in copper cables. In copper cables the electromagnetic interference is the phenomenon responsible for high losses as signals flow in electric current form, while in optical fiber the signal travel in light form. Now a days, optical fibers are used for 60% of communication in the world, connecting the continents, mak...
